Mindfulness-integrated
cognitive behavioural therapy
(Mi-CBT)
Mindfulness-Integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that blends traditional CBT techniques with formal mindfulness training, drawn from ancient meditative practices and modern clinical psychology. It aims to help individuals develop sustained attention, emotional regulation, and behavioural change by learning to relate differently to their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations.
MiCBT involves learning specific mindfulness practices (such as body scanning and breath awareness) alongside cognitive and behavioural strategies to manage distress, break reactive patterns, and build psychological resilience. The core goal is to reduce suffering by increasing awareness and promoting responses aligned with one’s values, rather than driven by automatic habits or emotional reactivity.
This approach is effective for a wide range of psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, chronic pain, and emotional regulation difficulties. It empowers individuals to develop deep self-awareness and more balanced responses to life’s challenges.
